A family trip to Mallorca & Menorca
Family • Tapas • Beaches
Some trips are about seeing more. This one is about slowing down—lingering over long breakfasts, afternoons by the sea, and enjoying a few quiet days together before life changes in the very best way.
Mallorca and Menorca are perfectly suited to a family holiday with young children, or even a babymoon (it’s where I did my second). The pace is unhurried, the food is exceptional, and the combination of beautiful hotels, calm beaches, and charming villages makes it easy to settle into a slower rhythm.
I love pairing the two islands. Mallorca offers lively markets, excellent restaurants, and dramatic coastlines, while Menorca feels wonderfully peaceful, with hidden coves and a quieter, more understated charm. Together, they create an itinerary that feels restorative without ever being boring.
Where I'd stay
Cap Rocat — A spectacular former fortress overlooking the Bay of Palma, offering complete privacy, exceptional service, and one of the island's most memorable settings.
Son Net — A beautifully restored estate nestled in the Tramuntana mountains, with elegant interiors and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
Vestige Son Vell (Menorca) — Refined countryside luxury just minutes from the sea, where long lunches and quiet afternoons become the highlight of the day.
While you're there
• Wander the streets of Deià or Valldemossa before stopping for a leisurely lunch.
• Spend an afternoon swimming or for more adventure kayaking Menorca's Colom Island in S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park.
• Charter a traditional llaüt for a relaxed day exploring the coastline from the water.
Especially lovely for expectant parents, couples celebrating a milestone, food lovers, and anyone looking to truly slow down before returning home.
